One of the reasons I first became interested in law enforcement was because everyday is something different; it is never the same day twice. This was evident as new calls were coming in.
In the morning my mentor and I rode out to a small house several minutes away from the department where someone reported there to be a blown transformer. After this was proven correct, a precautionary maneuver was suggested. This was to hose down the surrounding area since the post was covered in brush and caused a fire hazard. As my mentor said, "you don't need to know everything, just know how to find a solution." Including finding a solution for the apparent home being made under a semi truck behind a hardware store.
It seemed that it may be relatively quiet today, but towards the end of the afternoon I witnessed a felony. We had seen a traffic violation committed by a small, black vehicle which then turned into quite a bit of drug drama. Of course, since I was an assistant, I held the bag.
