At first, my mentor appeared baffled by the idea of an internship project and did not quite understand what it would entail. However, we did come to a decision relatively fast. As it turns out, there really is not much information available to those interested in going into law enforcement about what is needed and important (i.e. skills, education, etc.).
For the next month I will be creating a website that has all this information and more. The goal is to help incoming hopefuls to understand what it is like, what to expect, and how they can make the best impression. This site will also give information that will continue to be relevant and important during a career.
In order to do this, I will need to apply my savvy, technology skills along with my experience with interviewing to acquire necessary information from officers at the PD. This includes what skills are necessary for their job and what skills are, at times, lacking from applicants. This site will help to be a reference for the PD and those interested in learning.
